Hello all !!
3 days have been really good….on our last day in Venice we roamed around some more…fed the pigeons in san Marco from our hands which was cool…the other 3 went onto a few museums but I just sat inside the Basilica which was very beautiful….then went into non touristy uncharted territory.. said our good bye s to familiar sights…purchased souvenirs.. and at night caught our train to Florence with a packed Pizza.. found our hostel quite easily and it is so good ! we have a room to ourselves me and caity…its like a hotel room for the price of a hostel..
Florence is not big enough to use the public transport system…so yesterday we walked all around…to the Duomo and the Baptistery the door to which was the inspiration for a young Michealangelo who thoguth they were so beautiful they were the gates to paradise…
All around the Duomo are people just sitting and painting….beautiful things…so much talent just out there.. then we walked to a church called Sante Croce ( pronounced crochay ) this is the place of burial of the famous sons of Florence….we saw the graves of Gallelio , Michealangelo , Dante and many others….the sculptures on them are wonderful…
After  that we got some croissant, hot chocolate…sat inside the cafĂ© overlooking the duomo…in the warmth…it has been very cold outside…
And then we walked to the piazza de signoria..this is where a replica of the David is. The real david is inside the Academia here in Florence but the entrance fee is  expensive and its not worth it because there is nothing in there to see of interest ( for the ignorant ) other than him.so I thought I wont go in there this time…. Next time I come J There are some other sculptures too which are quite eye catching.. then we walked across the Uffizi which we will enter the day after and reached Ponte Vecchio( ponte means bridge ) at night this bridge is pink !! it was used by the Medici’s who are the founding family of Florence.  Without them Florence would not be what it is now. They financed the art made by Michealngelo and the likes….:)
Then we got back home made some soup and pasta…ate and slept J today we went to Pisa. It is another town. Where the tower is. Everyone said it is disappointing and an anti-climax but I completely disagree ! it was fabulous. It was a 1 hr train ride to there( slept nicely) From the train station we walked to the tower…a 20 min walk ideally but we stopped here and there because there are Christmas markets everywhere…picked up food for our picnic by the tower and ended up there after 40 mins…it was really cool ! its beautiful ! and in the photos its not seen as much but in reality it is actually leaning even more ! in your head you are just going “ wow “ …how is it still standing…? The hilarious part is that there are 100 s of people around who are doing the typical pushing the tower pose and out of context when you are just standing there it looks too funny…..
Of course we did the pose too..photos taken we had our little picnic..and pisa  was blissfully warm with the sunlight and heat…we just sat under it….after so long feeling a little warm… because pisa is more to the south than Florence. and we heard from co travellers in hostels who were coming from rome that it is very nice and warm there ! we are waiting for that !
That done we caught the train back to Florence and reached at like 5….slept again nicely….ive inherited the art of sleeping anywhere from my dad I guess….it was in recession until these days…now I sleep in trains, busses…noisy and lit hostel dorms….anywhere….and that too properly with complete mouth open + neck falling action and all…
We got a nice hot coffee and picked up our bus tickets for tomoro. (GOING TO SIENNA !! ) we walked around the city some more because its Christmas time and it is sooo pretty lit up and stalls and shops to distract us….then we started walking to Piazza de Michealangelo..which is sitting on top of a hillock I guess overlooking the city of Florence…took us about 45 mins to walk till there but the view was worth it…on the way we stopped for some florentian Gellato ! this shop had been suggested to us by 2 people so we hunted it down…the ice cream was quite good ! the night view of the city was beautiful…got some photos hung out there and then walked back down…got intot he hostel at like 9….cooked dinner…ate and now writing … will sleep in a bit because we have a long day tomoro…and I am very tired… we have practically been walking all over Italy…everyday a minimum of 5 km. but then for the first time in my life I experienced something every girl does at some point…I did not fit into one of pairs of pants….i could not believe it ! I had to practically drag it up my legs….i am quite stunned actually….i have put on weight noticeably I guess…all the pizza and hot chocolate is getting to me finally…but what can I say..i am not going to stop myself for this trip…maybe when I get back to Belfort I will do something about this situation…

More tomoro !
Loads of love
